Dr. Aucreman is a dedicated radiologist sub-specializing in the diagnosis of breast cancer. He was one of the first radiologists in the United States to incorporate Stereotactic Breast Biopsy into his practice. He was co-author on the first report in the American medical literature on the procedure, consisting of over 6,000 biopsies performed at the first group of institutions to perform the procedure. He was the founder of the Nancy Reagan Breast Center in Simi Valley, California. When Ultrasound Breast Biopsy was introduced to the United States, he was also one of the first to perform those procedures. Over a two-year period he taught over 25 fellow radiologists in places as diverse as Appalachia to the University of Connecticut how to do both stereotactic and ultrasound breast biopsies at a time when few were performing those procedures. As of 2008 he has personally performed over 3,000 breast biopsies.
